Scott deMers

Meet Scott, a dynamic individual with a passion for both adventure and professional excellence. Beyond the boardroom, Scott finds solace in the great outdoors, indulging in snow skiing, water skiing, mountain biking, hunting, and fishing. As a testament to Scott's dedication to skiing, he holds the title of Certified Level 1 Alpine Ski Racing Coach.

With a career spanning various roles, Scott has a rich professional history, beginning as a Toolmaker at Boeing, transitioning to a Drive System Specialist at American Manufacturing, and later serving as an Electrical Engineer at Reliance Electric CST Group for coal mining operations.

At SII, Scott embarked on his journey, climbing the ranks from Project Engineer to President, and most recently – to CEO, showcasing his remarkable leadership skills.

He specializes in the Marine Industry along with Infrastructure, and Drive Systems. Some notable projects he’s completed are the Titan Rocket SMARF 200/500 Crane Control System for the U.S. Air Force, Winch Drive Systems for NOAA, Markey Machinery, as well as Deep Space Antenna drives for NASA.

Rob Schommer, P.E.

Meet Rob, a strategic thinker and seasoned leader, who brings a wealth of experience to our team. Beyond work, he's an adventurous soul, enjoying outdoor pursuits like hiking, kayaking, skiing, and biking, along with a passion for computer gaming.

Rob's journey into the professional world began after graduating from UW, where he shifted gears from Chemical Engineering to Computer Science, following his true passion. With degrees in both fields, he embarked on a career path that led him through roles at Frigoscandia and S&B Inc., where he specialized in Telemetry Systems and Municipal Controls, refining his skills along the way.

In 1994, Rob achieved his P.E. certification in Control Systems and joined SII. He immediately immersed himself in challenging projects, including a Nuclear Waste Processing Facility in Hanford, WA. Over the past three decades, Rob's journey here has been marked by progression, holding titles from Project Engineer to Project Manager, Vice President, and now, President of the company.

Today, Rob continues to lend his expertise to numerous projects, particularly the Municipal market, and to drive success at SII.

Tim Rogers

VP, Sales
Meet Tim, a passionate explorer who brings the same enthusiasm and dedication to his professional endeavors. Outside of work, he’s a true PNW enthusiast who enjoys camping, riding his motorcycle, and exploring the great outdoors. He also enjoys playing video games and spending time with his family and two cats.

Before coming to SII, while finishing his engineering degrees, Tim worked at Wright Patterson Airforce Base doing research in Bioacoustics and Bioengineer under a DARPA contract. Tim was selected to design, develop, and implement an experiment for the Space Shuttle Discovery mission involving time relation to gravity.

At SII, Tim was hired as one of the first employees by our Founder, Thor, and has since climbed through the ranks of Project Engineer, Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Sr. Dir. of Bus. Development, and most recently to VP of Sales, where he continues to provide world-class customer service and innovative solutions to our clients.

Tim has worked on many projects in various industries such as Aerospace, Food & Beverage, Material Handling, and Hydroelectric Power. He specializes in HMI design and the Food & Beverage sector. One of the notable projects he has completed in his 35+ years at SII is Advanced Bioreactor Process applications.

Curt Plett

VP, Engineering
Introducing Curt, a vibrant leader who brings passion and dedication to both work and play. Outside the office, you'll find him camping with his family near Leavenworth, exploring new destinations yearly, and cheering on the Seattle Sounders.

With a degree in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Curt began his career in technical sales support before specializing in AC and DC drive integration at Ausco. Over 30 years ago, he found his home at SII.

Throughout his tenure, Curt has held various roles, from Project Engineer to Director of Engineering. His expertise lies in variable drive systems, particularly in the marine industry.

One of his standout projects involved antenna systems, showcasing his ability to navigate complex engineering challenges. Now, as the new VP of Engineering, Curt continues to lead with passion and innovation, helping to drive our company forward by leading our team of Engineers.

SIGNET SIRIUS & SIGNET CAPELLA have been selected as one of the ten significant boats of 2023 by Workboat. These boats will be dedicated to the safe Escort of deep-draft Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) from the Port of Corpus Christi where they will ‘touch’ one of every three barrels of domestic U.S. crude oil exported for many, many years to come.
